Bio

Ella Kane is currently a Senior at Grand Valley State University, pursuing a BFA in Printmaking and Illustration with a minor in Spanish. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she is an artist that primarily works in screenprint and relief.

Kane is inspired by the quiet delights and curiosities of the natural world, especially fascinated by the changing of the seasons and biodiversity on planet Earth. With strong aspirations to promote respect and spread compassion for Earth's ecosystems, she explores how various species interact among themselves, others, and their environment. Kane's artwork has earned various spaces in exhibitions, permanent collections, and seven of her prints are presently displayed in legislative buildings at the Michigan Capitol.

When she is not actively printing or drawing, Kane is usually found outside enjoying the fresh air. She particularly enjoys hiking in the woods, where she finds unlimited inspiration for her art practice.
